About Me:
I did PhD in Applied Maths in India and after coming to NJ, studied some Artificial Intelligence as part of my computer science curriculum. I loved AI but did not have a chance to work in it as I ended up as a system engineer in the then Bell System. In my mind, I continued to think about “is there a characteristic of a human (or a living) being at all, which cannot be simulated in a computer”. That led me to see two things: 1) Free willed Consciousness must exist and must be omnipresent, and must be beyond the body and the mind; it can never be produced nor simulated in a computer or in any machine. 2) Thought and memory (which I call mind), at least some thinking processes, can be simulated as is obvious from the AI progams that are being used these days but thought may not be actually produced in a computer.
I love music, play a guitar-like Indian instrument called Veena.
I love to share my views on mind and consciousness with others. You are welcome to visit and comment on my blog: http://mind-and-tachyons.blogspot.com/ .
